PMA was founded by Greg van Inwegen, a New York State licensed rock climbing guide.  He also is American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) certified Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) and is a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR). He also has his AIARE 1 and Avalanche Rescue certification.

Greg has been climbing for over 20 years across the US, especially in the Gunks, New York State.
